ONWASA Satellite Operations

The Town Hall maintains a Satellite Office for Onslow Water and Sewer Authority (ONWASA). The hours of operation are Monday – Friday 8a.m.-5p.m. No applications for new service will be initiated after 4:45 p.m. You may make ONWASA payments, establish new service, disconnect service, and initiate service orders in the Satellite Office.

In order to establish new service through our office you must come into the office and you will need to pay a deposit and have picture ID. This process takes around 20 minutes so please have all the information with you needed to establish service.

Debris Pickup

The Town offers debris pick-up in the Spring and Fall each year. A pick-up of this this nature would include yard debris only and no household items.

The Town maintains the service orders for street lights within Town, so the citizens do not have to report issues to the electric companies. The form is below to report issues with street lights such as not turning on, flashing on and off, or burning throughout the day.

Garbage & Recycling

The Town also provides garbage and recycling services. This service is mandatory and regulated by Town Ordinances. The current charge is $19.32 per month and if you live within the town limits this fee is assessed to your monthly water bill. The current breakdown of the charges is $15.19 per month for garbage and $4.13 per month for recycling. The Town has curbside recycling for our citizens and recycling pick-up is bi-weekly on Fridays. The convenience centers for recycling are no longer at the Town Hall for drop-off of recyclables. The garbage pick-up employees are not authorized to empty carts that are not Town issued. If you have additional carts out for pick-up that are not Town issued they will not be emptied. The employees are also not authorized to pick-up any additional garbage or recycling that is placed on top of or beside either cart. If you need an additional garbage cart you may request to have one extra for an additional monthly fee of $15.19. Below is the 2016 Garbage and Recycling Schedule and there is a link located at the bottom of this page to download the schedule.

Burning Permits

The town also issues burning permits for anyone within the county. If you are within 100 feet of your residence you do not need a permit – although it is a good practice to have one issued. There is no charge for these permits. Please have the following information with you in order to complete the permit:

  • Name
  • Address of where the burning will be
  • Name of the Fire Department the burning site is closest to
  • Number of miles from the closest Fire Department
